Amazon Prime Day 2023 is almost halfway over, and our up-to-date deals coverage continues. Our product reviewers are rounding up the best discounts at Amazon and beyond. Even if you’re shopping like a pro, it can be hard to fathom the sheer volume of deals, let alone determine which discounts are worthwhile.
This liveblog will keep track of highlights from across the event, with an emphasis on limited-time Lightning Deals, standout products, and fun finds we aren’t covering elsewhere. Keep in mind that Amazon’s Lightning Deals are first-come, first-serve, so they may expire quickly. Check back often to see what’s new.
Be sure to check out our absolute best deals post, where we share the best of the best.

Upgrade Your Flat Iron
Need a sign to ditch your old hair straightener? The Dyson Corrale, our favorite luxury flat iron, is currently on sale—which rarely ever happens. We love the flexing plates, cordless design, gentle heat settings, and that it can also curl hair.
If you’re content with your current straightener but want to upgrade your other hair tools, we’ve also found great deals on blow dryers and curling irons.
Treat Yourself To A G-Shock
Casio’s excellent octagonal G-Shock model is on sale for $160 ($40 off). These things are virtually indestructible, and this one is made out of actual metal. I love that it has an alarm and a day/date, which makes it super usable whether at home or abroad.
Sleep Deals That Have Never Sounded Sweeter
It’s been a long day here at the WIRED gear desk and it won’t be over for a few more hours.
But we’re starting to think about sleep, and we have a fresh update to our best sleep deals to share. You’ll find several great bargains on weighted blankets that help with anxiety and good savings on two of our favorite mattresses by Helix.
101+ Best Prime Day Deals is Now Live
We’ve spent all day coming deals to put together a master post of the 101+ best Prime Day deals, from iPads to Echos to air conditioners.
You Should Be Playing Tears of the Kingdom Right Now
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been out for a couple of months but barely budged off its $70 baseline price. Until now. Prime Day brings a comparatively good deal of $52 ($18 off).
Reviewer Eric Ravenscraft explains why you should get the game.

Our Favorite Candy Deals for Prime Day
When it comes to the best Amazon Prime Day deals, some people might be on the hunt for flashy tech like iPads or coffee makers, but consider this: Candy is also on sale. Louryn Strampe rounded up our favorite sugary snack deals.
Triple Your PlayStation 5’s Storage With This Samsung SSD
The Samsung 980 Pro SSD packs a whopping 2 terabytes of storage into an M.2 stick that you can easily plug into your PS5 (or other compatible computer). It comes with its own heatsink to keep performance fast, and the package comes with a couple months of Adobe’s CC Photography suite as a bonus. This deal is only for Prime members.

Make the Best Friendship Bracelets With My Favorite Pony Bead Kit for $21
The Swifties are calling them “friendship bracelets”, but this raver has been making kandi since the 7th grade. No matter what genre you’re into, bracelets made of pony beads are super popular.
My favorite kit I’ve ever purchased is on sale right now for Prime Day. It’s down to $21 ($7 off). The beads are super pretty and high-quality, and this kit has enough beads to make several bracelets. I like to use 30 beads per bracelet, and I recommend Stretch Magic Elastic instead of what comes in the kit, but this is still a super-solid starter if you’re trying to make some new tradeable jewelry.
Lightning Deal: The Chom Chom Fur Remover is $10 Off
This deal is 80% claimed, but it’s a great price for one of our favorite pieces of cat gear. The Chom Chom uses static to remove pet fur from upholstery, carpet, and other surfaces. There are no wasteful sticky sheets to throw away and the process couldn’t be easier. Simply swipe it back and forth across your pet’s favorite napping place and be amazed at the amount of hair it removes.
Act fast if you’re interested—this is a Lightning Deal.
Exclusive Scoop: Medea Giordano Has Purchased A Swiffer
Everyone, remain calm. We’re being informed that reviewer Medea Giordano has purchased a Swiffer PowerMop for $21 ($10 off). In an exclusive interview with myself over Slack, Giordano writes, “There is literally nothing I like to do less than clean the floor and for that reason, I’ve always been a Swiffer fan. But they’ve been mostly just OK. Recently, though, I’ve been hooked by the allure of the newest PowerMop, with its shaggy cleaning pads that I can only imagine will grab on to more dirt, dust, and hair as it glides across the floor.”
You heard it here first, folks: Swiffers are the craze sweeping the WIRED Gear desk. We’ll bring you more updates as the situation unfolds.
The Meta Quest 2 Is Back to $300 (And Comes With a $50 Amazon Card)
Meta made waves when it announced it would be raising the price of its flagship Quest 2 headset. Happily, the headset is back on sale at its previously-normal price of $300. To make the (sort of) discount sweeter, it comes with a bonus $50 Amazon gift card for games, which makes it a genuine deal. For more picks, check out our Best Gaming Deals guide.
Our Favorite Subscription-Free Security Cameras Are Cheaper Than Ever
We like the EufyCam 3 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) security system for a lot of reasons, but the lack of a subscription is one of the most important. These cameras capture crystal clear 4K video, support two-way audio, have integrated solar panels, and can take commands from both Alexa and Google Assistant. This set comes with the wireless hub, plus three starter cameras.
OmieBox’s Lunch Containers Are All On Sale
I have two school-aged kids who are both going to camp, so I’m addicted to reusable food containers. The surprising part is that adults love these, too. They’re great for picnics and travel. Why buy terrible, pre-packaged freeze-dried airplane food when you can pull out a bento of yummy snacks instead. We included OmieBox’s cute, durable plant-based plastic containers in our Best Reusable Products guide, but the insulated lunchbox that I use for my children (do your kids like soup?) is also on sale, as well as many other Omie products.
Forget Pumping Iron on Vacation—Get Steamed Instead
Ironing is a pain, even when you’re not traveling. Steaming clothes is my preferred way of removing wrinkles from my clothes. Even a fumblefingers like me who’s terrible at ironing can steam clothing easily in under a minute. Medea Giordano and I have used both of ours for a combined 10 years without any problems. Since it’s so compact, you can steam one item of clothing before you have to refill the water tank, but it heats up so quickly that it’s hardly a problem. Just remember that it runs on 110V. That’s common in North America, but even with a plug adapter, it won’t work in countries that use 220V, such as most of Europe.
The Absolute Best Deals Get Better
The crown jewel of WIRED’s Prime Day 2023 deals coverage—nay, of all Prime Day 2023 deals coverage—has received a refresh.
We’ve removed the dead deals, added some fresh bargains and there are now 82 enticing deals on our list.
Get a Smart Home Starter Pack for $23
The best thing you can pair with a smart speaker is a smart light bulb, and right now both a smart speaker and a light bulb we like—the 5th gen Echo Dot and a Sengled Bluetooth Color smart bulb—are bundled together for a crazy low price.
You’ll be launched into a life free of the light switch, and can tap into the various smart home voice commands instead of just asking for the weather or music. The Echo Dot has pretty impressive sound for its small size, and Singled bulbs are easy to set up and use (and cheap to get more of, if you decide to deck out your whole home after getting this bundle).
A Great Deal on Samsung’s Ultra-Fast Portable SSD
Is It Time To Upgrade Your iPad?
What will be the next product off the shelf for an actual member of the WIRED gear team? I’m very close to making it this 10th generation iPad.
My current iPad is a second-generation iPad Air from 2014. Yes, it’s nearly a decade old and still functional despite a cracked screen and an inability to boot up any apps beyond the basics.
That’s what’s great about iPads, though. Unlike a phone, you don’t really need one every year or two. This guy (I’m leaning yellow) is $70 off and will likely last me until the 2030s. No wonder it’s one of the top trending purchases today.
