Amazon Prime Day Liveblog (2023): Highlights and the Best Lightning Deals

The Swifties are calling them “friendship bracelets”, but this raver has been making kandi since the 7th grade. No matter what genre you’re into, bracelets made of pony beads are super popular.

My favorite kit I’ve ever purchased is on sale right now for Prime Day. It’s down to $21 ($7 off). The beads are super pretty and high-quality, and this kit has enough beads to make several bracelets. I like to use 30 beads per bracelet, and I recommend Stretch Magic Elastic instead of what comes in the kit, but this is still a super-solid starter if you’re trying to make some new tradeable jewelry.

This deal is 80% claimed, but it’s a great price for one of our favorite pieces of cat gear. The Chom Chom uses static to remove pet fur from upholstery, carpet, and other surfaces. There are no wasteful sticky sheets to throw away and the process couldn’t be easier. Simply swipe it back and forth across your pet’s favorite napping place and be amazed at the amount of hair it removes.

We like the EufyCam 3 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) security system for a lot of reasons, but the lack of a subscription is one of the most important. These cameras capture crystal clear 4K video, support two-way audio, have integrated solar panels, and can take commands from both Alexa and Google Assistant. This set comes with the wireless hub, plus three starter cameras.

I have two school-aged kids who are both going to camp, so I’m addicted to reusable food containers. The surprising part is that adults love these, too. They’re great for picnics and travel. Why buy terrible, pre-packaged freeze-dried airplane food when you can pull out a bento of yummy snacks instead. Ironing is a pain, even when you’re not traveling. Steaming clothes is my preferred way of removing wrinkles from my clothes. Even a fumblefingers like me who’s terrible at ironing can steam clothing easily in under a minute. Medea Giordano and I have used both of ours for a combined 10 years without any problems. Since it’s so compact, you can steam one item of clothing before you have to refill the water tank, but it heats up so quickly that it’s hardly a problem. Just remember that it runs on 110V. That’s common in North America, but even with a plug adapter, it won’t work in countries that use 220V, such as most of Europe.

My current iPad is a second-generation iPad Air from 2014. Yes, it’s nearly a decade old and still functional despite a cracked screen and an inability to boot up any apps beyond the basics.

That’s what’s great about iPads, though. Unlike a phone, you don’t really need one every year or two. This guy (I’m leaning yellow) is $70 off and will likely last me until the 2030s. No wonder it’s one of the top trending purchases today.
