Rev Dr Olorunfemi Joseph Olufemi, the father of Greatness Olorunfumi, who died last week as a result of the alleged negligence of one of the general hospitals in Abuja after she entered ‘One Chance’ vehicle, has broken silence.

Dr. Olorunfemi who spoke through the Secretary of Yali Network Nigeria, said that the family was overwhelmed by the sad incident that happened and needed privacy to mourn their dead.

According to the secretary, Moyosoluwa Oladayo, Greatness’s father gave her permission to speak, adding that Greatness who was a member of the Yali Network Nigeria, Abuja, came into the Federal capital last year in search for green pastures from Lagos.

“She did not have any immediate family in Abuja and she is the first child and bread winner of her family,” Oladayo stressed.

She said the incident which happened on Tuesday last week brought the father of the deceased who stays in Lagos to Abuja on Wednesday.

She added that the family of Greatness met with the organisation on Thursday at Mabuchi Police DPO office.

She said that Greatness father wanted to carry her deadbody but when police saw the video and audio circulating social media, they insisted on opening the case officially on Thursday.

The Police command in Abuja has said they are currently investigating the death of Greatness Olorunfemi who allegedly die last week in one of the general hospital in Abuja after she entered ‘One chance’ bus.

Federal Capital Territory, FCT Police Command spokesman, Josephine Adeh told BBC that they are investigating the case based on what they read and saw on social media.

“We are investigating, Mabuchi Division was incharge of the case but Commissioner of Police have directed the DPO to immediately transfer the case to SCID for proper investigation” she said.

Greatness who died in her 30s went viral on social media after one video of how Maitama General hospital allegedly abandoned her until she died.
