Paul Ibe has said that the country is cursed with President Bola Tinubu whom he accused of crushing the hope of Nigerians.
The Special Adviser on Media to Atiku said the argument from former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, that Nigeria’s economic challenges are caused by population was false.
Paul Ibe said while population control is important, the country is plagued by poor leadership policies of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) government.
Ayo Fayose while speaking on a national television programme condemned the planned hunger protest. Fayose argued that too much population in the country should be blamed for hunger and not President Tinubu’s policies.
In reaction, Ibe said: “Indeed, population control is important, but is that really Nigeria’s most pressing issue? Absolutely not.
“The real problem here is leadership. Nigeria is currently cursed with Bola Tinubu, a bumbling leader whose disastrous policies have crushed Nigerians’ hopes. He promised paradise and is instead delivering a train wreck, seemingly basking in the chaos he’s unleashed.”
Atiku’s spokesman also blamed the former governor of Ekiti State for poverty. He alleged that Fayose looted money that he should have used to address poverty of residents of Ekiti as governor.
He added that Fayose’s reference to too much population particularly in the North was ethnic profiling.
“Then we have former Governor Ayo Fayose, who seems to either recognize our true problems or conveniently forgets his corruption charges for allegedly robbing Ekiti State blind.
“Fayose is just following Tinubu’s playbook, a campaign soaked in tribalism now translating into a narrow-minded governance agenda. The voter profiling and exclusion tactics in certain areas are only widening our national rifts.
“Every region has its unique challenges, and genuine leadership should address these issues, not exploit them to seem superior. And what exactly did Fayose contribute as governor of Ekiti and a chieftain of the PDP?”
