The Kwara State University (KWASU) has reacted to the raid carried out by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on students of the institution.
Earlier on Thursday, Feb. 22, footage from Malete, Kwara State, showed students of the school burning tyres and revolting after a raid by NDLEA operatives.
This comes just two days after EFCC operatives also allegedly picked up students who owned expensive phones and asked them to explain their wealth.
Following the chaos that ensued by the NDLEA sting operation, the school’s Management waded in and restored peace. The school said contrary to reports, no life was lost.
A statement signed by the school’s Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee, reads: “PEACE RESTORED TO MALETE
