President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led the Emblem Appeal launch for the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.
The event, a poignant tribute to the courageous men and women who have served in Nigeria’s armed forces, underscored the nation’s commitment to honoring its heroes and supporting veterans and their families.
Addressing the attendees, President Tinubu praised the dedication and sacrifice of the Nigerian armed forces in securing the nation.
He stated the paramount importance of providing a safe and secure environment, free from threats and criminal activities, where all residents can flourish and live in peace.
“Our foremost objective is to provide a conducive environment free from threats and criminality to enable all who reside within our borders to thrive and live in peace. For this reason, we owe a debt of gratitude to our gallant troops who have risen to the challenge of securing this great nation,” President Tinubu declared.
He went on to express profound gratitude to the gallant troops and their families, acknowledging their immense sacrifice. “It is also our humble way of appreciating the veterans and the families of their fallen colleagues,” he added.
President Tinubu called on all Nigerians and non-Nigerians residing in the country, regardless of their political affiliation or religious beliefs, to proudly adorn the emblem and identify with those who laid down their lives for the peace and security of the nation.
