In what will come across as a really startling development, three boys have reportedly ganged r*ped and defiled a fourteen-year-old girl in Otor-Udu Community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta State.

Daily Post reports that the incident occurred on Monday, March 18.

The suspects fled their homes before the police and a human rights activist came for their arrest.

It was learnt that the victim was returning from school when one of the boys simply identified as Brorien, a known face in the neighbourhood called her but as she went to meet him, two other boys namely Dickson and Takebwebu, allegedly dragged her into the house, ganged r*ped and defiled her.

It was also learnt that the victim was rushed to the Otu Jeremi General Hospital upon which Medical reports to prove she was defiled and r*ped were issued.

The victim is, however, still bleeding and is undergoing medical care.

The Delta State Police Command led by CP Abaniwonda Olufemi confirmed the report. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe in a telephone chat with Our Correspondent said, “They said the matter was reported but the suspects are at large.”

Human rights activist, Kelvin Ejumudo who condemned the act of r*pe and defilement by the three boys said, “They can run but cannot hide”.

He urged the President-General of Otor-Udu Community to desist from the settlement of cases of r*pe and ensure that the suspects are handed over to the Police for prosecution.

According to Ejumudo, “Unfortunately they had fled their homes before we got there and are currently at large.”

He added that “It’s high time the Delta state Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori Tobore Oborevwori and the Delta State House of Assembly make stringent laws for r*pe offenders within the State to serve as a deterrent to others.
