Comedian and social media influencer, Debo Adebayo, also known as Mr Macaroni, clarified that he wasn’t the catalyst behind the reconciliation between renowned music producer Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, and veteran singer Daniel Oyebanjo, alias D’Banj.

The duo (Don Jazzy and D’Banj) founded Mo Hit Records in 2004 which dominated the Nigerian music scene from 2004 on; however, after a rift in 2012, the duo went their separate ways.

However, on Friday, Don Jazzy and D’Banj have seemingly reconciled after 12 years apart.

In a now-viral video posted on Friday by D’banj in collaboration with DonJazzy on Instagram, the duo were seen hugging each other and sharing pleasantries.

The video was a promotional video for the release of Dbanj’s new single, ‘Since 04,’ whose lyrics suggest him paying tribute to the now defunct Mo Hit Records, to which he belonged and was a major stakeholder alongside Don Jazzy.

The video was also a post to celebrate Mr Macaroni, who celebrated his birthday on Friday. Reposting the video on X, Mr Macaroni, on Friday, wrote, “It’s My Birthday and I got the perfect Gift.”

However, an old post from Mr Macaroni set X users speculating that Mr Macaroni “fulfilled his words” of initiating reconciliation between Don Jazzy and D’Banj.
In March 2013, Mr Macaroni on Twitter, now X, wrote, “I Have This Feeling, A Very Strong Feeling; That I Will Reconcile D’banj And Donjazzy.”

However, on Friday Mr Macaroni admitted to not being the one who initiated the reconciliation. He further revealed that both D’Banj and Don Jazzy had been “cool” before now.

He wrote, “Well, I didn’t do any reconciliation because they have been cool. But I’m so glad I can come back to this tweet and smile because Jah knows I have always loved these two with all my heart.”

The defunct Mo Hit Records then consisted of artists such as Don Jazzy, D’Banj, Dr. Sid, and Wande Coal, among others.

After the breakup, Don Jazzy went on to establish another record label known as Mavin Records and took along with him, D’ Prince, Dr. Sid and Wande Coal. Subsequently, the renowned producer and MR’s CEO signed artists such Korede Bello, Di’Ja, Reekado Banks, Johnny Drille, Poe, and the DNA Twins.

On the flip side, D’Banj inked a record contract with American Kanye West’s “Good Music.”

He started DB Records and signed two producers, Jaysleek and Deevee, as well as his younger brother, K-Switch. Dbanj later signed Nollywood actress, Tonto Dikeh, to the label.
