As I was walking around the pumpkin patch this weekend, taking photos of my son riding in a wheelbarrow and family photos of my friends and their child, a memory popped into my mind of my holiday card from two years ago. It was designed like a strip from a photo booth but used three photos of my family at a pumpkin patch earlier that year. And just like that, the anxiety set in: It’s already time to start planning holiday cards.
I used to print all my holiday cards through Canva, which is a solid choice if you want to make your own custom design (though you might hit a paywall for some design features), but after testing multiple card-making platforms last year, my favorite was actually Mixbook. Mixbook had a ton of beautiful, modern designs to choose from, and the platform had intuitive editing tools that gave me more freedom than I expected. I was also happiest with the photo print quality; I used a photo where my family was in shadow, but on Mixbook’s print you could still see the green in my dress, which some other brands turned almost completely black.
Mixbook has a few discounts you can take advantage of ahead of the holidays. They are running concurrently, so read on to make sure you use the best possible discount code.
There are two Mixbook sales happening right now. The first is Mixbook’s fall sale, which runs through October 21 and uses the code SALEFALL for up to 55 percent off sitewide. For holiday cards, though, it nets out to 30 percent off. The second is Mixbook’s holiday season sale, which runs through the end of the year and uses the code MAILJOY for 50 percent off holiday cards specifically (and you get 20 free printed envelopes). Right now, Mixbook auto-applies the SALEFALL code, so make sure to type in MAILJOY for the best deal on holiday cards.
If you’re hoping to shop for other gifts too (think photo books), the fall sale code is the way to go, as it applies sitewide and gets you up to 55 percent off photo books. The fall sale (code: SALEFALL) does extend to other Mixbook offerings, though. I’m debating if I send my husband drafts for the Christmas card or a photo book of this year first. He’ll likely get both before the day is done.
