Haidara, in a statement issued in Gusau on Monday, condemned the recent statements tarnishing the image of governor Lawal’s administration, alleging that the statements were allegedly issued by some media veterans in the state.

“The state government noticed with dismay that some media veterans have been engaged by politicians to blackmail the state government to achieve their negative and selfish interests.

“It’s very unfortunate for veteran journalists who have attained management positions in the media industry to venture into mischief making.

“This is very unfortunate with a valueless statements written by some veterans in the media industry, dwelling on issues centered around the present administration in the state and personality of Governor Dauda Lawal,” Haidara said.

“I did not intend to comment on the unfounded allegations against our government but it has became necessary for me to give the fact to the general public,” he noted.

According to the commissioner, all the allegations by mischief makers that Governor Lawal failed to tackle insecurity in the state were unfounded.

“We are all aware that when Lawal took over as the governor of the state, the security challenges were already escalated and all socio-economic developments grounded.

“Kidnapping, cattle rustling and other heinous crimes became rampant in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

“When we took over, no drastic measure were in place to tackle insecurity, many communities across the state were destroyed while residents became refugees in their lands,” he explained.

“In only three months of Lawal’s administration, he has initiated various policies and programmes to ensure that lasting peace and stability in the state.

“He cleared all the inherited outstanding three months salaries and pensions by the immediate past administration in the state.

“Citizens of the state are now seeing and feeling the impacts of security economically and socially, wise policies and programmes by the people’s-oriented government,” Haidara added.

The Information Commissioner cautioned media veterans in the state to desist from engaging themselves in such empty statements.
