Allswell (made by Walmart) has nice mattresses for the price. The Luxe is similar to the Standard Hybrid (which is not currently on sale, but still only $375), with three extra layers of foam and a plusher top cover. Both are hybrids with a full bed of individually wrapped springs inside it to prevent motion transfer.
We’ve also tried and loved the Allswell Supreme Hybrid Mattress ($739, $245 off), which is on sale for around $750. It offers a plushness you don’t find until you start to hit the $1,200 mattresses. Use code TURKEY25 to get this discount.
This is another favorite of ours. It’s not quite as luxurious as the Helix, but it’s a few hundred dollars less. Reviews editor Jeffrey Van Camp kept coming back to this mattress during testing because its got that soft-yet-firm feel, with just enough pressure-relief.

Eight Sleep Pod Pro Mattress for $2,595 ($500 off): This smart mattress is expensive, deal or not, but it’s nice. It changes its temperature to match your body each night, and it tracks your sleep. Jeffrey has been testing it, and said the top is not super soft at first—it can feel a little like there’s a thin sliver of plastic in there, but he got used to it quickly and likes the temperature regulation and sleep tracking features so far.

Keetsa Tea Leaf Supreme for $1,352 ($238 off): Use code BF15OFF. We’re not sure we buy the claim that tea leaf extract in the foam recipe makes it smell noticeably fresher than typical foam mattresses, but it is a solid option if you don’t like coils. WIRED’s Matt Jancer, a side-sleeper, slumbered on one for a good chunk of 2020 and found it had enough support without feeling too hot during the summer.

Nest Natural Hybrid Latex for $1,199 ($400 off): Made with natural latex, this hybrid mattress combines coils with latex foam. You can choose the firmness from three options: plush, medium, and firm. If you end up changing your mind down the road or want to swap out a worn-out “feel layer”—top foam layer—then you can do so through the zippered part of the mattress cover.

Saatva Classic Mattress for $1,199 ($200 off): Don’t let the name “Classic” fool you. This is a hybrid mattress with foam layered over the coils. White glove delivery service is an underrated perk that most other mattress companies don’t offer. Hauling a mattress upstairs, especially if you live alone, is a pain you can do without. Saatva will set your bed up completely and haul away your old bed for you for free. You choose from three firmness levels and eitehr an 11.5-inch or 14.5-inch thickness.

Purple Mattress for $1,049 ($100 off): The Purple is one of our honorable mentions. It’s not quite as comfy as a hybrid mattress, but it has a unique Jell-O-ey cool feel. You can save $200 if you also get two pillows, sheets, and a mattress protector, but all three are still pricey at another $316.

Casper Hybrid Mattress for $1,036 ($259 off): Still not sure which mattress is for you? This is probably a safe bet. Casper was the company that helped kick off the bed-in-a-box trend years back, and its experience shows. We haven’t tested the 2020 tweak to this mattress, but the 2019 model is one of our favorites. It’s comfy, with individually wrapped coils giving it spring, support, and airflow. Be sure to select the Hybrid option on the buy page. The original all-foam model—which pops up on the page first—is not as comfortable.

Leesa Original Mattress for $849 ($150 off): We prefer the Leesa Hybrid to this all-foam option, but it’s a comfortable, more affordable model. We think it’s comfier than the original Casper.
